Everything we know about the African Super Cup in Riyadh so far

Riyadh Season 2024 is shaping up to be quite the festival. With a massive bout already announced, a tennis super match, and the African Super Cup in Riyadh is happening too.
Set to happen on Friday September 27, with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announcing the venue and kickoff time soon.

The final will be played between Egyptian clubs Al-Ahly and Zamalek, under CAF which is the controlling body for association football, beach soccer, and futsal in Africa.
Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh stated, “We are pleased to host the African Super Cup during the Riyadh Season, representing one of the most important tournaments in the African continent. This event brings together two football giants from our brotherly country, the Arab Republic of Egypt: Al-Ahly and Zamalek. We all look forward to a competitive match that meets our expectations.”
Al-Ahly is the current champion of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, while Zamalek, the other Egyptian giant, is the champion of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. So, we can’t wait to see who comes out on top out here in Riyadh.
Previously Riyadh Season was also confirmed by the 6 King Slam tennis tournament. Boasting a total of 50 Grand Slam titles between them, the 6 Kings Slam will feature six of the most elite men in the game including current number one and most successful men’s tennis player Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal who is the winner of 22 Grand Slam titles.
