Watch: See what the Riyadh Metro station at the airport looks like

Coming soon…

The Riyadh Metro has been in the works since 2014, and it’s one of the most highly anticipated mega projects in the city. It’s set to transform the face of the capital when it comes to alleviating the city’s traffic problems. This is what the Riyadh Metro station at King Khalid International Airport looks like.

Expected to open later this year, according to Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, the huge public transport system is a part of Saudi Arabia’s wider Vision 2030.

In the video, the passenger is seen in the first-class cabin, where the seats are ready and covered with black tarps. You can also see other trains going by, tunnels, and more.

There will be 84 Riyadh Metro stations in total serving six lines, with four major stations that’ll allow passengers to move between the metro lines and to and from the bus network. These include the Qasr Al Hokm Metro Station, King Abdullah Financial District Station, located on the eastern side of KAFD, Western Station, found in the Al Sweedi district, and the fourth and final main station, the STC Station.

The metro transport system is divided into six lines. These include the Blue Line, Red Line, Orange Line, Yellow Line, Green Line, and Violet Line. These will connect the entire city, including areas like Olaya to Batha’a, King Abdullah Road, and more.
