The Riyadh Metro launches two new stations

The new stations will be serving orange line…

We know the Riyadh Metro and all its lines have been fully functional for quite some time now. Perhaps you’ve even experienced the mega transport project in its entirety yourself. The stations are still coming in every few weeks or so. Here are the new Riyadh Metro stations to know about.

As the openings of the project proceed, it goes on to reduce congestion in high-traffic zones and is now expected to be used by more than 1 million passengers annually.

As of today, two new stations have launched, both of which serve the Orange Line. These include the railway station and the Jarir District station.

The Riyadh Metro covers six main lines and 84 stations, covering a distance of 176 kilometres. The network covers most highly populated districts, government facilities, and key educational and commercial areas.

The six lines are:

  • Blue Line: Olaya to Batha’a, covering a 38-kiloemetre distance
  •  Red Line: King Abdullah Road, covering a 25.3-kilometre distance
  •  Orange Line: Al Madina Al Monawara to Prince Saad bin Abdul Rahman Al Awal road, covers a 40.7-kilometre distance
  •  Yellow line: King Khaled International Airport Road, covering a 29.6-kilometre distance
  •  Green line: King Abdul Aziz Road, covering a 12.9-kilometre distance
  •  Violet Line: Abdul Rahman bin Aouf road to Shiekh Hassan bin Hussain bin Ali road, covering a 30-kilometre distance

You can get tickets to the metro online by selecting tickets and destinations through the Darb application, which is available on both IOS and Android, in English and in Arabic, or you can alternatively get your tickets via ticketing machines at the stations, or by tapping your cards at the stations.
