The capital’s dining scene is taking a giant bite out of the Big Apple, with New York-based pizzeria Emmy Squared Pizza making its way to Via Riyadh.
Riyadh foodies can try the iconic square-shaped pizza as of Thursday April 24. But it’s here for a limited time only, as the exclusive pop-up will run for just two weeks.

These Detroit-style pizzas are cut as squares rather than triangles, but the moreish magic comes from their fluffy focaccia-like dough, which is edged with a caramelised, crispy cheese known as the brand’s signature ‘frico’ crust.
Emmy Squared Pizza is also known for its signature sauce stripes applied post-bake and unique toppings. You can expect a mix of traditional and more innovatively-topped red and white pizzas, such as the Colony² (Ezzo pepperoni, pickled jalapeños, honey), the Big Ang (house sauce, ricotta, double pecorino, meatball, banana peppers), Angel Pie (ricotta, mushrooms, Truffleist mushroom cream), Hot Chicken (Nashville hot chicken, ‘Bama white sauce, chopped pickle), Good Paulie (caramelized onions, sausage, smoked gouda), Le Burger (grass fed beef, American cheese, Sammy Sauce, greens, pickles) and more.
But there’s more than just pizza: The restaurant also serves salads, sandwiches served on pretzel buns, and burgers, like the award-winning Le Matt Burger. The colossal dish is a double-stack beef burger with cheese and a special sauce.
It’s safe to say you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Emmy Squared Pizza opened its first Saudi Arabian location in Jeddah at the Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina, but it closed its branch in August last year.
