Saudi Arabia announces midday outdoor work ban for three months
The ban will take effect starting June 15…
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, in collaboration with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, will implement a ban on working under the sun in all private-sector establishments. Moving forward, the ministry has announced that all private sector companies and establishments must abide by a strict midday outdoor work ban. Violations related to the ban on working under the sun can be reported by contacting the Ministry’s unified number (19911) or through the Ministry’s application available on smartphone devices

The ban begins at noon every day and ends at 3pm, and is expected to be enforced until Monday September 15, 2025. This decision comes as a move to preserve the safety and health of workers in the private sector, sparing them from conditions that may endanger their health, and providing them with a healthy and safe work environment in accordance with international standards for occupational safety and health.
The Ministry has also called on companies to regulate working hours accordingly, thereby contributing to a safe work environment free from various risks.
The move is also expected to reduce occupational injuries and diseases and protect workers from accidents to improve and increase productivity.
