How the event plays out is through 32 single-elimination bouts officially sanctioned by the WBC to determine which boxers will advance to the next rounds of the championship. What that means is that the players will be competing on a knockout basis. Participants in this round will compete in four recognised weight classes: featherweight, super lightweight, middleweight, and heavyweight. The third stage is then scheduled for August 2025, with the grand finals in December, where winners in all four categories will be announced. According to the Saudi Press Authority, the event reflects the Kingdom’s growing status as a global hub for major sports events, particularly in boxing, which continues to draw increasing interest from fans inside and outside the Kingdom. The Kingdom’s participation in hosting this event solidifies Riyadh’s title as the global capital of WBC champions.
