Ministry of Sports announces new hotels in King Abdullah Sports City

The project will include two world-class hotels…

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sports has just signed an agreement with local and international companies to develop and operate two new hotels at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

According to Arab News, agreements have already been signed between Kushan Real Estate Development, Zuhair Fayez Partnership, and IHG Hotels and Resorts.

Zuhair Fayez Partnership will be providing design and engineering consultancy services, while IHG Hotels and Resorts has been tasked to provide hotel services for the new hotels at King Abdullah Sports City.

Set to provide a total of 585 keys between the two hotels, the new venues will be built on a 16,000-square-meter site at the sports city. This comes in a move to help support the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to attract major sporting events.

The hotels are also set to offer integrated services designed to meet the needs of international sporting delegations and other visitors. The two new hotel developments will also include a fan zone, fitness and sports clubs, swimming pools, international restaurants, retail stores, dedicated areas for athletes, and conference and event spaces.

Opened in 2014, King Abdullah Sports City is located in Jeddah. It’s home to a main stadium, several other outdoor stadiums, a sports hall, and a number of other facilities. Also known as Alinma Stadium, the sports city is often fondly called “The Shining Jewel” or simply “The Jewel,” and is located 30 kilometers north of Jeddah.
