Try the Asean flavours at Lulu Hypermarket's Amazing ASEAN festival

A celebration of ASEAN food and culture…

Asian food is a much-loved staple in almost every part of the world. It’s relatively easy to make at home and highly available to eat in or take away at specialised restaurants. But if you fancy preparing it yourself, you should hit up Lulu Hypermarket for all your Asian ingredients.

The good news is, Lulu Hypermarket has just unveiled its week-long food festival, “Amazing ASEAN: Discover the flavours of Asia”, which runs from 4 to 10 August 2021.

Expect a more comprehensive selection of fresh produce and ethnic delicacies on offer, specially flown in from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

Dabble in the selection of seasonings, including soy sauce from the Philippines and silken tofu from Singapore, or pick up dried ingredients such as noodles and tamarind.

Don’t fill up your basket too soon, though. There is also a range of fruits, including Indonesian and Malaysian pineapples and red pomelo from Vietnam. And if that’s not enough, you’ll also find black rice, frozen curry puff, coffee and more.

Ambassador of Singapore to Saudi Arabia and chairman of the ASEAN Riyadh committee, H. E. Wong Chow Ming, officiated the event’s launch today, along with fellow ASEAN Ambassadors in Riyadh.

Wong said, “The festival is in commemoration of the ASEAN Day, which falls on 8 August. On behalf of all the ASEAN embassies in Riyadh, we are pleased to be working with Lulu Hypermarkets to launch the Amazing ASEAN festival. The festival aims to promote and broaden the range of food products from the ASEAN countries. We hope you will enjoy as many different flavours that Southeast Asia has to offer.”

Well-known for promoting country festivals inspired by cuisines from around the world, Lulu has flown in a range of products that comprise imported fruits and vegetables, pantry essentials, spiced sauces, desserts, and healthy and organic items.

With more than 210 stores operating worldwide, Lulu continues to procure a wide range of food and non-food essentials that undergo consolidation, repackaging, and relabelling of products for the Middle Eastern market.
