Bacha Coffee to open its first flagship store in Riyadh
For all the coffee lovers
Another café in Riyadh? Yes, but not just any coffee. Bacha Coffee, the Moroccan institution of top-of-the-range coffee, is preparing to open its very first Saudi Arabian branch. And not just in any neighbourhood: at Solitaire Mall, where luxury is written in capital letters.
How fitting for a brand renowned for its glitzy packaging and swish stores, inspired by the Dar el Bacha palace, Bacha Coffee’s original home, in Marrakech.
The opening date for the Riyadh store has yet to be announced, but we expect its debut at Solitaire Mall with a flagship offering more than 200 varieties of 100% Arabica coffee, roasted by hand using traditional methods, and traditional coffee service.
Bacha Coffee focuses on diversity, from natural decaffeinated coffees to flavoured coffees, as well as beautifully designed gift sets and accessories. Traditional coffee brewing methods are used, with coffee masters preparing each cup in golden gooseneck pots.
Expect the same luxurious interiors with rich tones of red ochre, black and white chequered floors, geometric patterned trellises, and carved cedarwood.
Any of the 200 coffees available can be made to order, hot or iced, served with a fresh Chantilly cream, a raw sugar candy stick, and a reusable glass straw.
While the focus remains on the coffee, we’re hoping the menu includes a selection of indulgent bites, including some of the best pistachio croissants we’ve ever tasted.
You may choose to pair your coffee with a variety of pastries and viennoiseries, or grab a takeaway to enjoy them while strolling around Solitaire Mall.
Founded in Marrakesh in 1910, the original Bacha Coffee café was located in Dar el Bacha palace and was renowned for its prominent clientele, including US President Franklin Roosevelt and UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The site ceased operations after the Second World War.
V3 Gourmet has since revived the heritage Bacha Coffee brand. The company made its overseas debut in Singapore in late 2019, and it has since rapidly expanded its footprint across Asia, with key locations in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, and South Korea. It has also opened retail stores in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Kuwait.
