It’s coming back
For the last few years, the Spanish Super Cup has been happening in Saudi Arabia, and we’ve been all too happy to have it and be a part of the thrilling action it brings by every year. And it’s great news all around as the Spanish Super Cup 2026 in Jeddah has been confirmed.
Happening from Wednesday January 7 to Sunday January 11, the Spanish Super Cup 2026 will be happening at the King Abdullah Sports City.
The tournament will see Barcelona defending the championship against major rivals Real Madrid, and Athletic Club and Club Atletico De Madrid.
How is the tournament structured?
The matches will be happening in the following order:
- Real Madrid vs
- Barcelona vs Athletic Club
Though exact dates and times are to be confirmed. The winners of these two matches will then take each other on for the final on Sunday January 11.
The Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has previously hosted five editions of the Spanish Super Cup, with the first being in 2020 in Jeddah, where Real Madrid won the title after defeating Atletico Madrid.
The tournament then moved to Riyadh for its second edition, in which Real Madrid claimed the 2022 title.
In the third edition, Barcelona lifted the trophy after beating Real Madrid, and Real Madrid won the fourth edition held in Riyadh early last year in 2024.
The tournament then moved back to Jeddah for its 2025 edition, where Barcelona won their 15th title in a final against Real Madrid.
Barcelona holds the record for the most Spanish Super Cup titles, having won 15 times out of 27 previous participations, followed by Real Madrid with 12 titles. Athletic Bilbao ranks third with three titles, alongside Deportivo La Coruña – who also has three, while Atletico Madrid has won it twice.
