New breakfast place, Mirzam, offers an assortment of Saudi food.
This latest homegrown restaurant in Riyadh is where food and culture intertwine…
If the neutral interior awash with traditional handicrafts isn’t inviting enough, the authentic Saudi breakfast menu at Mirzam is sure to draw you in.
Tucked away at Takamul Plaza, Mirzam has opened its doors to welcome guests to experience the flavours of contemporary local cuisine with warm Saudi hospitality.
Here, the casual restaurant offers an impressive spread of sharing dishes inspired by the country’s diverse food culture through a modern spin in the kitchen and on the floor.
The minimalist space is bright and inviting and accented with Sadu-inspired cushions, a range of pottery wares, and geometrical art patterns on the wall.
Diners will also be served Arabic coffee once seated – a symbol of Saudi’s generosity and hospitality.
A delightful menu of small plates
The straightforward menu has three parts: appetisers, main courses, and a dessert.
It is influenced by the rich culinary traditions, local produce, flavoursome spices, and cooking methods passed down through generations defining Saudi Arabian cuisine today.

To get the entire experience, especially for first-time diners, get a taste of everything and start with the Mirzam appetiser platter. It comprises an assortment of dips such as spicy hummus, eggplant mutabbal, and pomegranate cheese, accompanied by a basket of warm and soft, freshly baked bread.
For main courses, diners can expect to dive into delicious small plates, including chicken mugalgal, crispy falafel served with pickled eggplant and tahina, beef hummus, and white foul (fava beans) prepared using the Mandi technique.
Other delectable favourites include freshly grilled za’atar and honey cheese, Maghash eggs with a tomato base, and grilled eggplant stuffed with vegetables and cheese in tomato sauce. It’s all quality over quantity here.
End the meal with Ma’asoub Mirzam, a Tihamian dish made of wheat dough with bananas, margarine, cream, and served with honey. You’ll leave planning your next visit.
Do take note that it’s a cosy space at Mirzam, so be sure to make your reservation via the Requeue mobile application.
