This is the new Saudi winter school schedule you need know
Ramadan timings have also been announced
Just a few months ago, students across Saudi Arabia went back to school. While going back in the heat wasn’t ideal, we’re happy to report that winter is finally here. Schools across the country have just announced the Saudi school winter schedule.
Going into effect this week, and announced by the General Administration of Education in Riyadh, the morning assembly will begin at 6.45am, followed by the first class at 7am.

The Saudi school winter schedule will remain in effect until Tuesday February 17, 2026. Afterwards, schools will follow the Ramadan schedule for the holy month, from Thursday March 5 to Wednesday March 18. Classes will begin later, with the first period starting at 9am.
After Ramadan, schools will go back to the summer on Sunday March 29, 2026, when the morning assembly will start at 6.15am with the first class beginning at 6.30am.
School break schedule
- Autumn break: From Friday November 21 to Saturday November 29
- Additional holiday: From Thursday December 11 to Sunday December 14
- Mid-year break: From Thursday January 1, 2026 to Saturday January 17, 2026
- Founding Day holiday: Sunday February 22, 2026
- Eid Al-Fitr holiday: Friday March 6, 2026 to Saturday March 28, 2026
- Eid Al-Adha holiday: Friday May 22, 2026 to Monday June 1, 2026
The academic year then finally ends with the summer holiday beginning on Thursday June 25, 2026. According to the calendar, the 2026-2026 key academic dates have also been announced. Students will be going back to school on Sunday August 23, 2026.
