Daimumah in AlUla reopens - here's what awaits you

After a year-long closure, the reimagined Daimumah opens its doors to a host of exciting new cultural and culinary attractions

You’ve heard of Hegra, Jabal Ikmah, Elephant Rock, Harrat Viewpoint, and AlJadidah Arts District in AlUla, but have you heard of Daimumah?

Just a short distance from AlUla Old Town, this picturesque living heritage destination makes its long-awaited return, with a host of family-friendly activities.

Step into Daimumah (from the Arabic word for sustainability) – a living canvas nestled in the AlUla Oasis where art, nature, and heritage come together. For centuries, farming communities have shaped and nurtured the AlUla valley, leaving behind a fertile landscape for future generations.

Daimumah

It comes as no surprise that Daimumah is highly regarded for its shaded, palm-tree-lined trails, lush green fields, and abundant produce.

And as part of its official relaunch, visitors can join guided thematic walking tours around the area to discover the diverse sights and sounds of the oasis, and sample an incredible variety of locally grown produce.

Visitors to Daimumah will discover how its fertile lands helped to shape AlUla’s food, culture and way of life over thousands of years. Local guides will also share fascinating insights into how ancient irrigation channels, known as qanats, transported water to crops and the history behind Daimumah’s collection of old mudbrick homes.

Daimumah guided walking tour

Whether you prefer to wander freely or discover stories with a guide, this immersive experience provides a rich tapestry of public art, interactive installations, curated retail, and verdant landscapes.

Unwind amidst ancient palms and flowing springs, and when you’re ready to recharge, dine at Daimumah’s charming restaurant, which offers an authentic Oasis-to-table experience with menus crafted from only the best local produce and dishes inspired by the region’s culinary heritage.

Alongside showcasing sustainable farming, its lush Oasis setting has been transformed into a cultural and artistic hub to foster connection and creativity between visitors and the local community.
