Celebrate Saudi artistry at Banan, the Saudi International Handicrafts Week

Banan is back, showcasing heritage and crafts

Calling all craft lovers. Banan returns for its third edition, running from Thursday November 13 to Wednesday November 26.

The Saudi International Handicrafts Week, also known as Banan, promises a feast for the senses, celebrating the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage and showcasing handicrafts as an essential part of national identity.

But it’s not just limited to the local heritage. Bringing together artisans from across Saudi Arabia and over 40 countries, Banan – part of the Year of Handicrafts 2025 – is a vibrant hub of creativity and cultural exchange.

The festival not only empowers talented artisans and promotes their work to local and international audiences, but it also offers visitors a vibrant taste of heritage and craftsmanship.

Expect exhibitors to include artisans from Greece, Jordan, Mexico, Nigeria, and Oman, each displaying unique cultural crafts such as textiles, pottery, metalwork, and woodcarving.

This year’s guest of honour, China, will showcase the nation’s rich tradition of crafts. Culture Minister Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, who is also chairman of the Saudi Heritage Commission, has announced that Syria will participate for the first time, featuring its traditional arts and products.

A spotlight will also be placed on the House of Artisans, an initiative that supports craftspeople in the Kingdom.

As with previous years, Banan offers a diverse line-up of activities designed to engage visitors of all ages. Families can enjoy the dedicated kids’ zone, while tech-interactive experiences bring a modern twist to traditional crafts. Other event highlights include live craft demonstrations and performances, and the cultural books section, inviting visitors to explore the stories behind the Kingdom’s heritage.

Need a little break after immersing yourself in the world of crafts? Unwind at a curated selection of restaurants and cafés, providing the perfect spots to relax and soak in the festival atmosphere.

And the best part of the Banan exhibition is that entry is free, but you are still required to reserve your ticket on the WeBook platform.
