Ready to reach new heights? Step inside this brand-new bouldering centre in Riyadh
Get your bouldering vibe on at Climb Up, Riyadh’s indoor bouldering and wellness centre, where movement, community and challenge come together
Do you know your bouldering from your belays? Your rock over from your dyno? If you’re a thrill-seeker who enjoys fun, adrenaline-pumping activities, welcome to the world of bouldering.
Bouldering and indoor climbing have soared in popularity in recent years, and now, Riyadh is stepping into action with Climb Up, the city’s brand-new dedicated bouldering centre.
But first, what is bouldering?
Bouldering is a form of free climbing that doesn’t require any special equipment. No ropes, no harness, just you and the wall, and because of this, it’s usually limited to shorter and lower climbs. The routes are climbed over a soft crash pad, which allows climbers to safely jump down after completing a route.

The best thing about bouldering is that anyone can give it a go, as the sport is not all about strength. Skill, balance, and strategy are far more important, making it a great form of exercise for people of all ages.
Plus, it’s pretty straightforward: all you have to do is fill out a waiver, and off you go – no auto-belay lectures or anxiety-inducing belay tests. You can train for whatever your goals are, be they bouldering your hardest or sport-climbing redpoints.
And indoor bouldering is just plain fun, from seeking out the smallest holds you can pull on and hucking the biggest dynos you can stick to getting weird and wild with comp-style upside-down or parkour problems. There’s no feeling better than finally cracking the beta with friends – both old and new ones you just made as you all work the moves together.
