Walk through heritage at Al-Huwayett by Diriyah Season

The year is nearly over, but that doesn’t mean there’s going to be a lag between events you can check out, of course. When you live in a city as vibrant as Riyadh, there’s always something to do; just look at the brand-new Al-Huwayett by Diriyah Season 2025, for example.
Launching this past Saturday (December 27), the Al-Huwayett Program is taking over the historic Adhuwaihrah District, one of Diriyah’s most prominent heritage districts. Known for its cultural and educational character, the district has played an important role in shaping Diriyah’s urban landscape since the very beginning.

Open daily from 10am to 10pm, Al-Huwayett by Diriyah Season offers visitors a chance to connect with Diriyah’s values and traditions through cultural and entertainment experiences.
The experiences present the heritage and culture of Saudi Arabia in an educational, interactive way. The new experience aims to showcase the role of the historic Adhuwaihrah District as a living landmark that showcases Diriyah’s history in an environment that brings together culture, environment, and community.
What to expect
Al-Huwayett features five main zones designed as a complete journey reflecting stages of life in Diriyah.
- The journey begins in the “Family Alley,” an open space to play and relax.
- Then we move to “Al-Mawten” (Homeland), where children learn about decision-making and the art of building Najdi-style homes.
- In “Al-Faydah” (Growth Oasis), visitors take part in an authentic agricultural experience that reflects Diriyah’s spirit of growth and prosperity through planting the land, caring for palm trees, and learning about local animals.
- There’s also “Al-Nahdah” (Community and Trade), which showcases the enchantment of daily life and traditional trade through an interactive experience blending imagination with cultural discovery.
- The journey through history culminates in “Al-Hisn” (Strength & Unity), an interactive maze that encourages teamwork and builds thinking and problem-solving skills in a fun, challenging environment.
