Riyadh, look alive; it’s time to run. The Riyadh Marathon is coming back this weekend, and this time around, it’s a full-blown four-day affair. To avoid getting caught in the traffic, these are the Riyadh Marathon 2026 road closures you need to know about.
Hosted by the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), the marathon will be happening from Wednesday January 28 to Saturday January 31 at Mayadeen in Diriyah. And these Riyadh Marathon 2026 road closures will only apply on Saturday January 31.

From 3am to 1pm, the following roads will be blocked:
- Prince Badr Ibn Abdulmohsen Bin Abdulaziz Road (between King Salman Road to the north and Al-Thumamah Road to the south)
- Anas Ibn Malik Road (Al Yasmin District)
- Othman Ibn Affan Road (borders districts such as Al Nuzha, Al Izdihar, and Al Narjis)
- Abi Bakr As Siddiq Road (a major north-south arterial highway located in Northern Riyadh)
- Al Thoumamah Road (west-to-east, starting near the Al Sahafah and Al Yasmin districts)
Marathon details
The Riyadh Marathon 2026 consists of four different races:
- Full Marathon (42-kilometres): Open to participants aged 20 and above
- Half Marathon (21-kilometres): Open to participants aged 18 and above
- The 10-kilometre race: Open to participants aged 17 and above
- Lastly, the “fun-run”five-kilometre race: Open to all people and children of all ages (an adult must accompany children)
This year, the marathon introduces the Riyadh Marathon Festival for the very first time. Picture four days of fun, fitness, and celebration, culminating in the big race day that brings together runners from across the Kingdom and around the world for an exceptional sporting experience
