This is the Ramadan school schedule in Saudi Arabia
The new schedule has been tailored to the special circumstances of Ramadan
A not-so-quiet countdown has begun to Ramadan 2026. And while we’re still waiting on iftars and suhoors that will be carrying the month forward, we’ve already gotten possible dates, and now the Ramadan school schedule in Saudi Arabia.
Announced by the Ministry of Education in Jeddah on X, formerly known as Twitter, the new Ramadan school schedule in Saudi Arabia was revealed in order to balance the academic continuity with fasting so as not to over-exert students.

During the month of Ramadan, schools will begin at 9am instead of the usual 6.15am (summer) or 6.45am (winter). According to the announcement, staff in all departments of the school are required to work no more than five hours.
Students will only be going to school in Ramadan for 11 days, from February 18 or 19 (TBC) until Thursday March 5. Afterwards, the Ramadan/Eid Al-Fitr holiday will begin and last until Saturday March 28. School will likely resume following the usual summer starting times.
What’s the schedule like right now?
Currently, schools are still following the winter schedule, which begins with the morning assembly at 6.45am, followed by the first class at 7am. The Saudi school winter schedule will remain in effect until Tuesday February 17, 2026.
After Ramadan, schools will go back to the summer on Sunday March 29, 2026, when the morning assembly will start at 6.15am with the first class beginning at 6.30am.
