New Expo 2030 Riyadh Metro station announced
Vision 2030 is coming together nicely
Saudi Arabia’s Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has a design-and-build contract for the construction of a new metro station to cater to the Expo 2030 site once it’s built. Here’s everything we know about the Expo 2030 Riyadh Metro station.
Set to be located in the north of Riyadh, tenders for the Expo 2030 Riyadh Metro station were floated in early February, with a bid submission deadline of May 3, according to MEED.

The new metro station will be located on Line 4 of the Riyadh Metro, or rather, the Yellow Line of the network.
So what’s happening now?
RCRC has instructed interested bidders to submit the required documentation by February 26. The client is expected to open the bids on May 3. Stay tuned to What’s On Saudi Arabia for the latest.
Riyadh Expo 2030

Set to be held under the theme ‘Foresight for Tomorrow,’ Expo 2030 Riyadh will empower participants to reimagine a better world. Expo 2030 Riyadh’s master plan prioritises ecological regeneration, walkability, and adaptive reuse, ensuring long-term benefits. Divided into five districts, we’re looking forward to seeing the sustainable solutions district, the prosperous people district, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia district, the transformational technology district, and the global collaboration district, too.
According to the exclusive report, construction work on the Expo 2030 Riyadh site is progressing at an accelerated pace. In January, Saudi Arabia’s Expo 2030 Riyadh Company (ERC), tasked with delivering the Expo 2030 Riyadh venue, awarded an estimated SAR1 billion (USD267 million) contract to deliver the initial infrastructure works at the site. The contract was awarded to the local firm Nesma & Partners.
More about the Riyadh Metro

We’ve also heard more about the city plan for Riyadh this year, and will see the rollout of a new metro line. First announced in 2024, the Riyadh Metro Line 7 will serve Qiddiya, Diriyah, and beyond. Confirmed by Saudi Gazette, the metro extension is among the resident-facing additions that will support the city’s ongoing expansion and improve access to services and entertainment destinations like Six Flags Qiddiya, At-Turaif and Bujairi Terrace.
