SAMoCA launches SAMoCA at Night, a curated series of conversations with artists and cultural experiences as part of its current exhibition, A Night of a Lifetime. It offers insights into artists’ creative processes, the inspirations behind their works, and their perspectives on wedding celebrations as spaces of heritage and transformation. On Thursday February 26, Saudi artist Aziz Jamal and Bahraini artist Mashael Alsaie discuss their works which explore themes of resilience, cultural continuity, the tension between private desire and communal expectation and the shifting realities of partnership within Saudi wedding traditions. Additionally, on Friday February 27, Saudi artist Huda Alnasir will delve into her fountain work infused with Ghassal, a nod to long-held wedding rituals for protection from the evil eye.
