Riyadh Transport adds more bus on demand routes for the Riyadh Metro

Here’s how to book

To make your commute that much easier, Riyadh Transport has just added more bus on demand routes for the Riyadh Metro so you can get where you need to be (and fast). You can look for the new zones on the Darb application.

If you’re not familiar with the service, the bus on demand is a short-distance, shared shuttle service (similar to an app-based taxi service) providing pick-ups and drop-offs to select key Metro stations. It aims to bridge the gap between individuals and the nearest public transport (Metro and BRT) stations within operational zones.

Previously, there were 11 operational zones, which included

  • Abu Bakr As Siddiq Road- Northern Ring side
  • Al Kharj Road
  • Al Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah
  • Airport Road
  • Eastern Ring Road
  • King Abdullah Branch Road
  • King Fahd Road
  • Khurais Road
  • Makkah Al Mukarramah Road
  • Northern Ring Road
  • Southern Ring Road- Khurais side

Now, five more bus on demand routes for the Riyadh Metro have been added to the lineup. These include Abi Bakr As Siddiq Road- King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz Road side, King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz Road, and two pick-up zones on Anas Ibn Malik Road and the Southern Ring Road-Makkah Al Mukarramah side. The bus on demand service is now operational across a total of 15 zones all over the city.

There are two options to secure your tickets: one way is to purchase a combined pass for RPT and Bus on Demand via the Darb app, and the second is to purchase a simple Bus on Demand ticket via the Darb app. The bus on demand service operates daily from 5am to midnight on Saturday through Thursday and from 9am to midnight on Friday.

The service was first launched last year with seven operational zones, and has since gone through major expansion plans to include more zones citywide.
