You cannot enter the holy sites without a Nusuk ID Card
The rule only applies once the Hajj season begins
If you’re planning on performing Hajj this year, you should know that this Hajj season, the rules are set to be different. Once the season begins, you can no longer enter the holy sites without a Nusuk ID Card.
Mandated by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Nusuk ID Card is a requirement for pilgrims to enter Makkah, the Grand Mosque, and the Holy Sites. You can either get a physical version delivered via your service provider or use a digital version found on the Nusuk or Tawakkalna applications.

What is a Nusuk ID Card?
It is an identification card for pilgrims that enables them to enter all holy sites and access the services provided to pilgrims to perform Hajj rituals with ease and convenience. It must be carried throughout the Hajj period in all transfers from arrival and within the holy sites until departure.
Importance
It contributes to facilitating the Hajj journey by providing various important information and services, such as:
- The pilgrim’s personal information
- The pilgrim’s medical records
- Guiding lost pilgrims by providing their accommodation address in Makkah, the holy sites, and Madinah.
- Organising boarding for buses.
- Provides information about the service provider company the pilgrim belongs to.
