The new darling of the Riyadh cafe scene, Distance Away, offers speciality coffee and dessert. But what stands out here is the truly unique decor. See it from a distance (get the dad joke) and you’ll immediately think you’re walking into an old-timey cowboy-style saloon. Walk in, and you’ll see rustic woodwork all over the space, delicious desserts (and cookies) beckoning you over to the counter, where you can explore several coffee and matcha options, and so much more.

Location: Shaikh Abdullah Al Makhdub St, Al Falah

Timing: Sat to Wed 7am to midnight, Thu to Fri 7am to 1am

Attend a live debate

This live student debate by Prince Sultan University explores how we experience art today, asking whether feeling an exhibition is enough, or if understanding its meaning is essential for the experience. Set within the context of Saudi art’s evolution—from heritage sites like AlUla to contemporary immersive installations—students argue two perspectives: one that values emotional, sensory experience and another that emphasizes cultural context and artistic intent. Through arguments, challenges, and audience interaction, this debate encourages visitors to reflect on their encounters with art.
