It was only ever a matter of timing and, crucially, the right location for the arrival of Shangri-La’s first hotel in Saudi Arabia. Well, the wait is almost over.
A fresh and contemporary look has been bestowed on one of Jeddah’s most sophisticated luxury hotels, bringing a new meaning to opulence among the city’s leading accommodations.

It’s the debut Shangri-La property in Saudi Arabia
Shangri-La Jeddah marks the first hotel from the Asian-born luxury hotel brand in the Kingdom. Opening on February 22, 2022, it’s housed inside the exclusive Burj Assila, a 64-storey architectural icon and Jeddah’s tallest building, a soaring 260 metres high tower.
The hotel is perfectly positioned within proximity of the city’s premier shopping areas. It is just a stone’s throw from the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, home to the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix – the fastest street circuit in Formula 1.

Let’s talk rooms
The 220 world-class accommodations are catered to discerning travellers and are decked out in a palette of light, soothing colours. The individually styled guest rooms feature spacious balconies and a sophisticated room design accented with blue and beige.
Taking advantage of the prime Jeddah Corniche location, each room makes full use of the floor-to-ceiling windows, which bathe the rooms in natural light and provide expansive views of the sea and the Jeddah skyline.
The hotel offers a variety of accommodation types, including 148 deluxe guest rooms, 55 suites, and 17 serviced apartments.

Guaranteed to become one of the city’s most exciting dining addresses, Shangri-La Jeddah’s restaurants blend traditional flavours with local influences and modern techniques. The hotel will open with three restaurants, including Shang Palace, a legendary destination for Cantonese cuisine and the signature restaurant of Shangri-La Hotels worldwide.
The new outpost of the award-winning restaurant gracefully recreates the decor of a luxury Chinese restaurant with its traditional Chinese motifs infused with Arabesque patterns. It creates a see-and-be-seen space inspired by Chinese courtyard ‘Siheyuan’ houses where the service and ambience are as exciting as the food.
Feeling like a hearty feast instead? Head to The Waterfront Kitchen, a yacht-inspired all-day-dining restaurant for an interactive culinary experience. With a vibrant ambience, it features live cooking stations, including shawarma, Mongolian grill, wood-fired pizza oven, mezzeh and seafood counter, tandoor and Asian favourites, as well as dessert and juice bars.
Or pop by the exquisite boutique patisserie COPA, where you’ll want to linger for hours and indulge in sweet treats. Look out for the coffee and chocolate pairing menus and Shangri-La’s indulgent Signature Afternoon Tea.
An extensive mix of sports and leisure facilities
The Wellness Club at Shangri-La Jeddah offers health and wellness facilities separate for men and women that span across two floors. The gyms include a full range of state-of-the-art Technogym cardio machines and weights.
Those seeking something a little more indulgent can look forward to pampering treatments at The Spa at Shangri-La, where guests will also find a sauna, jacuzzi and Hammam.
