New guidelines for domestic flights in Saudi Arabia

With domestic flights set to resume in Saudi Arabia on Sunday May 31, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has issued new travel guidelines, state news agency SPA reported.
The guidelines set out the precautionary measures for airlines, airports and travellers, as domestic services resume across the Kingdom.
Booking
All travellers must disclose their medical information when booking, especially if they have any Covid-19 symptoms. Ticket outlets at airports will remain closed, and pre-booking tickets using electronic payments is preferred.
At the airport
Passengers will need to arrive at airports two hours before departure. They must go through a thermal check prior to boarding. Only passengers with a temperature less than 38°C will be allowed to board.
Airline staff are required to go through a medical check. Staff and travellers must disinfect their hands and wear a face mask and gloves at the airport and during the flight.
The GACA has provided the Kingdom’s 28 airports with sterilisers, and installed glass shields at check-in points. Social distancing must be observed by following the special stickers on the ground. Airports will be cleaned every three hours.
On board
Cabin baggage is limited to one piece of carry-on luggage. There will be empty seats between passengers, and travellers are advised to use cashless payment for any in-flight purchases.
Planes will be thoroughly disinfected after each flight.
Domestic and international flights have been ground in Saudi Arabia since mid March, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the exception of special repatriation flights.
