5 fun things to do in Jeddah this weekend: October 7 to 9

The weekend is here, and the weather is on the cusp of changing…

Whether you are ready for more outdoor activities or still holding onto the summer, there is a lot to do in Jeddah this weekend.

Here are five interesting things to do in Jeddah this weekend.

Thursday October 7

1. Book into a cool new local hotel

The House Hotel Jeddah has just opened its doors and claims to be the first ‘community-centric boutique hotel’ in the city. Located in CityYard, which is on its way to becoming the new hip lifestyle destination in the city, the hotel brings together modernity, heritage, and a lot of art in a perfectly relaxing space. The lobby serves as a social hub where people can come together for a coffee and a conversation, and there is also a private rooftop pool surrounded by olive trees, a wellness space, and a gym.

2. Watch the country’s best drifters compete

Like fast cars and desert landscapes? The Meydan Drift Championship is taking place on Friday evening at Afsaan’s Equestrian Club. You can opt for either a ‘regular’ ticket for SAR 38 or get a ‘gold’ ticket and a better seat for SAR 146. Expect to see the champions of drifting get together for an adrenaline-filled competition.

For tickets and other queries, drop a text at  056 789 2750 on WhatsApp.

3. Experience some of the best East Asian cuisines in Jeddah

Toki offers an impressive fine-dining experience and is easily one of the best East Asian restaurants around. The fusion cuisine is prepared by speciality chefs from China, Malaysia, and Thailand and served in style in a dining space with ornate pillars, exquisite chandeliers, and luxurious lighting. Honourable mentions go to the slow-roasted duck, the wok-fried rice noodles, and all their creative mocktails.

4. Get away from it all on a luxurious yacht

No matter how the weather is, being on the water only makes it better. If you are looking to get away from it all, a few hours on a yacht just might be the thing you need.

Jeddah Yachts Marina has a lot of different options to choose from, ranging from hosting private events such as birthdays or parties in general to organizing a special dinner on the sea. It is not a cruise, but it is definitely the next best thing.
