The King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) – it’s definitely a promising address for a hospitality project in Riyadh. And London-born Italian restaurant Il Baretto has quietly set up shop to become the first restaurant and dining experience in KAFD.
Scheduled to open on November 19, Il Baretto is renowned for its simple and authentic Italian menu. Expect options from across the Italian spectrum, drawing influence from the speciality dishes and regional Italian produce.
The menu includes a curation of Italian favourites and modern classics such as veal Milanese, whole seabass, lobster linguine, and salmon carpaccio.
Design-wise, the brand’s Riyadh location merges signature interior elements from its Marylebone location with contemporary influences inspired by KAFD. Think dark mahogany tables, leather banquette seating, and exposed brickwork.
Aside from the restaurant’s main dining area, Il Baretto Riyadh will also accommodate guests on the elegant outdoor terrace. It boasts a warm, inviting and charming style worthy of this culinary experience.

Il Baretto Riyadh is co-founded by high-profile restaurateurs Arjun Waney, who is also responsible for bringing us well-respected restaurants such as Zuma, Roka, Coya and LPM, and Giuliano Lotto of Zafferano, Memory of China and Aubergine.
It is launched in partnership with prominent Saudi restaurateur Mohammed Jawa, who holds over 18 years of experience within the local market. Il Baretto Riyadh, together with his forthcoming launches within the district – which include Zuma, Amazonico, Mr Chow, Aok and Black Tap – plays a pivotal role in the development of KAFD.
