Playa Hotels & Resorts to bring all-inclusive concept to Saudi Arabia
Another day, another exciting hotel announcement in the Kingdom…
It seems like all of the big hotel players are flocking to Saudi Arabia as the country continues its tourism drive, and the latest is Mexico-based Playa Hotels & Resorts.
Known as the leading owner and operator of all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, Playa Hotels & Resorts have signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund (TDF) to develop and operate the all-inclusive resorts across the country.
While they’ve not given too much away yet, it’s expected that TDF and Playa Hotels & Resorts will develop the properties – the first outside of the Americas – along the beautiful Saudi Arabian coastline, bringing Playa’s unique take on the all-inclusive concept to destinations including the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea.

There’s plenty of appeal in the all-inclusive model for travellers: all food and drink pre-paid, plus experiences, activities and entertainment all included within their package. It’s a popular option for families typically too, with resorts designed to cater to travellers of all ages in terms of their leisure offering.
The new hotels will compliment the brand’s existing collection of 22 resorts, which span Jamaica, Dominican Republic and some of Mexico’s most popular holiday resorts, including Los Cabos, Playa Del Carmen and Cancun.
