If you’ve been wondering what Jeddah’s waterfront could look like in the coming years, Jeddah Central is giving us a clearer idea.

Set along the Red Sea coastline, the mega development is planned as a place where you can spend an entire day, from breakfast overlooking the marina and afternoons by the beach to concerts, sporting events and evening strolls along the waterfront.

The ambitious project was back in the spotlight at the Future Hospitality Summit Saudi Arabia 2026 in Riyadh, where Jeddah Central Development Company shared more about its vision for one of the Kingdom’s biggest lifestyle destinations.

Spanning 5.6 million square metres, Jeddah Central is being designed as a mixed-use waterfront district that brings together hospitality, entertainment, culture, shopping, dining, sports and residential all in one destination.

For residents and visitors, that means plenty to look forward to.

Plans include a sandy beach, a marina and yacht harbour, a waterfront boardwalk and promenade lined with restaurants and cafés, luxury hotels, retail districts, leisure attractions and wellness experiences.

One of the biggest draws will be its four signature landmarks, each offering something distinct. The Oceanarium promises an immersive marine experience, while the Opera House is set to become a new home for world-class performances.

A state-of-the-art sports stadium will host major sporting events, and the Industrial Museum will celebrate the city’s rich heritage.

Sport is expected to play a major role in shaping the destination. Speaking at the summit, Ahmed AlAredhi, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Jeddah Central Development Company, said that major sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup 2034 present an opportunity to accelerate projects that continue to create value long after the final whistle.

But even if there’s no match on, there should still be plenty of reasons to visit. The stadium will be surrounded by restaurants, entertainment venues, and attractions to keep the area buzzing year-round.

Hospitality is another key element of the masterplan. Jeddah Central will feature luxury hotels, meeting and event spaces, retail destinations, restaurants and leisure facilities, creating a destination that caters to business travellers, holidaymakers and residents alike.

While Jeddah Central is still taking shape, it’s already looking like one of the city’s most exciting future destinations.
