Saudia launches flights between Neom and Dubai
Flights will also launch from Neom to London…
There aren’t many destinations as ambitious as Saudi Arabia’s super city, Neom. If you want to see one of the kingdom’s biggest giga projects come to life, here’s your chance, as Saudia have launched direct flights between Dubai International Airport and Neom Bay Airport.
From the end of June 2022, Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier will operate a weekly round trip flight from Neom to Dubai. After this, Saudia will launch direct flights from London to Neom. The Saudia flights will also have a special livery in a bid to showcase the Neom brand to the world.
Neom is the brainchild of Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, and one of the key projects in Saudi Vision 2030. The sustainable city will rise out of the desert and aims to run on renewable energy, be 10 degrees Celsius cooler than the rest of the GCC, and a four hour flight from 40 per cent of the globe.

His Excellency Ibrahim Al-Omar, director general of Saudia, said: “This partnership is in line with Saudia’s ambition to support Saudi Vision 2030 by increasing passenger traffic domestically and regionally, as well as expanding our connections to global cities. As Neom continues to progress, demand for travel to there is only increasing, making it a natural addition to our list of destinations.”
Nadhmi Al-Nasr, chief executive officer of Neom, said: “Neom Bay Airport is a key enabler of Neom’s development, facilitating efficient access to Neom for residents and business partners, and drastically improving the ease with which Neom can connect with people from all over the world. This is an exciting step in our journey to provide the best possible air connectivity to Neom and a signal of our rapid growth.”
Neom is currently home to 1,500 employees from more than 65 nationalities. So here’s your chance to see how it started and how it’s going.
