Hotly anticipated Banyan Tree AlUla resort to open in October

The all-villa resort promises outdoor spa treatments, nomadic chef’s tables and bespoke active adventures…

Banyan Tree is expanding into Saudi Arabia, and its majestic all-villa resort in AlUla’s Ashar Valley set to open this October.

The Banyan Tree brand’s ethos to provide a sanctuary for the senses is brought to life across 82 villas, two restaurants and an array of bespoke experiences inspired by AlUla. Villas are all inspired by the nomadic nature of Nabataean architecture and designed with plenty of local influence. One-, two- and three-bedroom tented abodes are finished in shades of the desert, some come with private pools, and all are enhanced with signature Banyan Tree offerings.

For dining there will be a choice of two restaurants: Arabic-fusion restaurant Alban is a celebration of flavours, materials and crafts from AlUla that will welcome guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner; while you’ll get to enjoy contemporary Thai dishes at Saffron, Banyan Tree’s signature restaurant.

To immerse guests in the desert on their doorstep, Banyan Tree AlUla will take as many of its experiences outdoors as possible, including pampering spa treatments, intimate chef’s tables and active adventures. We’ve already added taking a dip in the stunning swimming pool nestled in the valley to our bucket list.

The resort will also serve as the perfect base for guests looking to explore the fascinating array of activities available within AlUla. Trips to the tombs of Hegra, scenic walks on the oasis trails and guided visits to AlUla Old Town invite guests to discover AlUla’s ancient lands and its incredible people.

“We are thrilled to launch Banyan Tree in the beautiful valley of AlUla in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” commented Eddy See, President and CEO, Banyan Tree Group. “Founded in 6th century BC, AlUla is filled will so much history and we are honoured to be part of its heritage efforts,” he added.

Room bookings are open from Monday October 24, with rates from SAR5,386 per room per night.
