First Look: Brunch & Cake opens in Bujairi Terrace in Diriyah

Residents of Riyadh, you’ll soon have a new Instagram-worthy destination for picture-perfect dishes.
Brunch & Cake opens its first venue in the newly launched Diriyah’s Bujairi Terrace, so you can sip on superfood smoothies and tuck into colourful salads and sumptuous pasta.
Much more than an all-day dining restaurant, Brunch & Cake is known for hosting in iconic locations with beautiful interiors, wholesome dishes, generous portions, and a place that provides one-of-a-kind experiences.
This is the brand’s first location in Saudi Arabia. The What’s On team has been down for an exclusive first look at the exciting new spot, which will open its doors on Tuesday December 13.
So what can you expect from this exciting new eatery? Needless to say, the décor is beautiful. The interiors have that boho-chic Brunch & Cake stamp, and the overall vibe is of a laidback and serene space in neutral and pastel shades.
Rattan chairs and wooden furniture, along with marble- and terrazzo-top tables, are surrounded by natural dried pampas grass, large green potted plants, and other ornate Bohemian-style trinkets illuminated by light flooding in from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Even the exterior of this charming café will catch your eye, with the surroundings created in a traditional Najdi architectural style. The outdoor space allows diners to enjoy an alfresco experience while soaking in the cooler weather.
Step inside and your gaze will fall on the Grandma’s Bakery case filled with delicacies, all of them homemade. Even after you spend time admiring the skilfully decorated bakes and cakes, you’ll find it nearly impossible to make a choice – they all look so delicious.
And, of course, the menu boasts hearty dishes that are as Instagrammable as they are tasty. From the famous avocado toast and açaí bowls adorned with fruits to pepperoni pizza with chilli honey jam and creative drinks, Brunch & Cake caters to breakfast, lunch, coffee dates and dinner.

We start with the crispy salt and pepper calamari (SAR60) and the refreshing summer salad (SAR64) served in a hummus bowl. You can upgrade your salad with avocado, grilled chicken or baked salmon at an additional price.
If you love pizza, get the freshly baked Diavola pizza (SAR79) with chorizo, pepperoni, and beef bacon, drizzled with chilli honey (although, to be honest, we order it mainly due to the pretty heart-shaped mozzarella cheese on top).
But if you’re feeling indulgent, opt for the lobster thermidor pasta (SAR98), a beautiful dish tossed in a citrus cream sauce. Just don’t forget to end off with the selection of cakes from the display. Still feeling that buzz after all that meal? That’s just your satisfied stomach.
Best of all, you can walk it off by exploring the Bujairi Terrace area and the Unesco World Heritage site At-Turaif afterwards.
