AlUla is getting a shiny new contemporary museum

Centre Pompidou AlUla is officially happening…

The Royal Commission for AlUla just signed a partnership with Georges Pompidou National Center to bring a shiny new centre to Saudi Arabia.

The new museum will is set to be a world centre for regional and global 21st-century art.

The main goals of the new venue are to exchange knowledge, resources, and services in the fields of cultural industries.

Nora Aldabal, Arts AlUla Executive Director, Royal Commission for AlUla said: “Our collaboration with Centre Pompidou is another important step in our goal of empowering a thriving community of local artists, and driving knowledge and skills within the sector as we create viable opportunities for economic advancement as part of our continued transformation into a Living Museum,” Arab News reported.

There will also be a dynamic program of displays, exhibitions, commissions and gardens you can stroll through too.

Centre Pompidou is also the biggest collection of modern and contemporary art in Europe and is located in the heart of Paris. Art addicts, this one’s for you.

Currently, AlUla has also been getting a ton of firsts, you can also climb the AlUla Stairway which is a 45-metre-long ladder where you can soak up stunning views of the city. There will also be the first-ever AlUla Camel Cup coming to the city.

Meanwhile, if you’re still looking for art in the region, you can still check out the first Andy Warhol exhibition in Saudi Arabia.

While no opening dates have been announced just yet, we’re certainly very excited to see what this collaboration has in store for us.
