In pics: Lionel Messi and his family enjoy a visit to Riyadh
It’s the football star’s first trip to the Kingdom with his family…
Lionel Messi, Argentinian footballer and the official brand ambassador for Saudi Tourism, recently enjoyed a holiday in Riyadh with his family.
The family of four spent two days in the capital, with the first day visiting Riyadh’s historical and cultural gems including an authentic Saudi farm.
In the photos, the family are seen playing board games, feeding an Arabian gazelle, and enjoying a palm weaving demonstration under the shade of the symbolic date palms.
The football star also took to Instagram with a photo of Saudi’s lush greenery captioned, “Who thought Saudi has so much green? I love to explore its unexpected wonders whenever I can.”

The seven-time Ballon D’or winner is no stranger to the Kingdom, having visited Jeddah last year, and played a friendly match, Al Nassr and Al Hilal against the French champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), in Riyadh back in January, at the King Fahd Stadium. It was the first time Ronaldo and Messi went head to head since December 2020.
