This cultural event in Jeddah celebrates all things Indonesia

With around 280 million people – the fourth most populous country in the world – more than three hundred ethnic groups call Indonesia home. Their own cultures, traditions, customs, and languages enrich this diverse country.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in Indonesian culture, you can witness first-hand the archipelago’s cultural diversity at the upcoming “Indonesia Unlimited: Folklore Festival”. All without having to leave Saudi Arabia.

The two-day celebration will be held at Casa Diora Hotel in Jeddah on Thursday August 17 and Friday August 18. The festival celebrates the culture and heritage of Indonesia, which coincides with Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17.

Here’s what to expect

The festival will feature a variety of traditional Indonesian performances, including dance and music. You can also look forward to a festive atmosphere with a live band and DJ sets.

There will be a marketplace with vendors selling authentic Indonesian food and souvenirs, as well as a showcase of traditional clothing and crafts from various regions. Plus, visitors can take part in traditional and cultural games and activities.

Another highlight is the screening of Indonesian documentaries and educational films on a projector, offering a unique insight into the country’s history, beliefs and way of life.

The “Indonesia Unlimited: Folklore Festival” is a great opportunity to learn about Indonesian culture and to enjoy a day of fun and festivities. The ticket for general admission is priced at SAR45, and the festival is open from 5pm to midnight on both days.
