And now, with a new date in the diary for the ‘Ring of Fire’ fight night, the Fury vs Usyk bout is ready to finally take centre stage. For all the fans who have waited so long for this fight, the undisputed showdown will now take place on Saturday May 18 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

All the heavyweight belts will be on the line when the two clash. The winner will be crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era – the first time such a title has been granted since British boxer Lennox Lewis claimed it 24 years ago.

Other big hitters to look out for

It’s set to be another historic night in Riyadh. His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), has just revealed a thrilling undercard for the ‘Ring of Fire’ first undisputed heavyweight clash of the 21st century between Fury and Usyk, which will include a further two world title fights.

Opetaia vs Briedis: In the co-feature attraction, the undefeated Australian Jai Opetaia, who triumphed against Ellis Zorro at the ‘Day of Reckoning’ in December, will take on three-time cruiserweight world champion Mairis Briedis for the IBF world championship and Ring Magazine belt in a rematch of their exhilarating July 2022 encounter when Opetaia claimed the belts by overcoming the celebrated Latvian fighter.

Cordina vs Cacace: The other world title fight on the undercard is an IBF super-featherweight bout between reigning champion Welsh destroyer Joe Cordina and surging contender Anthony Cacace, the IBO king from Northern Ireland.

Kabayel vs Sanchez: The heavyweight division sees German star Agit Kabayel going up against unbeaten Cuban Frank Sanchez as both return to Riyadh following their knockout victories on the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card in December in a WBC Final Eliminator.

Kovalev vs Safar: In another significant attraction, Sergey Kovalev – the former long-standing light heavyweight world champion – will go up against the undefeated Robin Sirwan Safar at cruiserweight.

Chamberlain vs Wahab: Mark Chamberlain, the UK’s explosive lightweight, will also return to the Kingdom to face the dangerous Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab, Nigeria’s lethal threat.

Itauma vs Mezencev: Formidable young heavyweight star Moses Itauma, the World Amateur champion, who is tipped to become the future face of boxing’s marquee division, takes on Ilja Mezencev in his ninth fight in the professional ranks at the age of just 19.

Nyika vs Seitz: New Zealand Olympian David Nyika will square off against Michael Seitz in the cruiserweight division.

Lowe vs Ahmadi: English featherweight Isaac Lowe is matched with Hasibullah Ahmadi.
