The What's On Saudi Arabia Awards returns for 2024
And registrations open soon…
At a fabulous awards night in September 2023, 350 leading lights of the hospitality, leisure and entertainment scene gathered at JW Marriott Riyadh for the inaugural What’s On Riyadh Awards.
On the night, we crowned Riyadh’s finest places to eat, the greatest concerts from the last 12 months, fabulous hotels that deserve your Riyals and so much more, dishing out a total of 24 awards. And we’re thrilled to announce that we’re coming back – bigger and better than before – for the What’s On Saudi Arabia Awards 2024.
Taking place once again at JW Marriott Riyadh, the glittering gala will be held on Tuesday September 17, with registrations for all categories set to open on Monday April 29. What makes these awards special is that they are voted for by the public. That’s right, the winners of the What’s On Saudi Arabia Awards win because those that frequent them day in, day out genuinely believe they’re the best in the business.
If you’re new to the awards, or just need a friendly reminder, we’re bringing you a complete guide to the format below. Plus, sharing a little insider info on what’s new this year.
The process
Registrations will open from Monday April 29, so if you are a F&B professional, or know of a restaurant that you want to sign up, all outlets are encouraged to sign up soon, ahead of the voting period. You’ll be able to register in the category or categories most suited to your venue or outlet via platinumlist.net.
Voting will then open from June 1 and close at the end of July. So, if you want your venue to be in with the best chance of winning, you’ll need to register ASAP.
Once the votes are in, we will welcome the country’s top local and international gastronomy and entertainment talents to a dazzling awards night on Tuesday September 17, 2024. It will be here that the winners of those coveted trophies will be announced.
The categories
This year, the awards have been extended to an impressive 37 categories, expanding to include new cuisines and experiences in Riyadh, and encompass restaurants, entertainment and leisure categories across the wider Kingdom, a testament to the accelerated growth in Jeddah, AlUla, and Eastern Province.
Of the 36 categories, 33 are decided solely by public vote. But we couldn’t let you have all of the fun. Completing the awards categories are a trio of coveted Editor’s Choice awards, which will be handpicked by the editorial team. These are Homegrown Restaurant of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Restaurant of the Year.
