Riyadh's prized Egyptian restaurant Balcona 99 is open in Jeddah

When it comes to Egyptian food, it’s very difficult to get it perfectly right, and while a lot of restaurants try, Balcona 99 is one that we feel always hits the mark. Lucky for us, the famed venue is planting its roots in the Kingdom further with Balcona 99 Jeddah.
In the business for more than 13 years now, this is Balcona 99’s second location in the Kingdom, the first being in the capital (you can read our review here).

Complete with four locations in Egypt, it’s safe to say that the brand has solidified its role as one of, if not the, best restaurants in the game serving the cuisine. The super vibrant atmosphere will lead you in, and the gorgeous decor and upbeat music will certainly make you stay.
If the Riyadh branch is anything to go by, the Jeddah venue is all set to be decked out in colourful Egyptian murals painted across the walls, tapestries hanging from the ceiling of the terrace, hieroglyphic inscriptions on the walls, and black-and-white images of iconic Egyptian actors and musicians throughout the space too.
Top menu items include Roqaq meat (Egyptian meat pie wrapped in a thin crispy sheet of dough), the Balcona grills, such as the pigeon stuffed rice served with fries, and okra with meat stew.
Currently, the Jeddah branch is only open for dinner starting at 6pm and going on until 2am.
