The Italian Super Cup has just kicked off in Riyadh

Footie fans, listen up. If you’ve been patiently waiting for another big tournament in the big city, it’s all happening right now. Here’s everything we know about the Italian Super Cup in Riyadh.
Happening until January 6 at Al-Awwal Park Stadium, the tournament will be hosted in Saudi Arabia for the fifth time and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Quality of Life program and the country’s plan to continue hosting major global sporting events.

This year’s edition features four teams in a knockout format: Inter Milan, the Italian League champion; AC Milan, last season’s league runner-up; Juventus, the Italian Cup champion; and Atalanta, the Italian Cup runner-up. The semi-final stage begins with Inter Milan facing Atalanta, followed by AC Milan taking on Juventus the day after, completing the semi-final matchups.
In the second edition in Riyadh on December 22, 2019, Lazio defeated Juventus. The third edition, also hosted in Riyadh, was played on January 18, 2023, at the King Fahad International Stadium, with Inter Milan thumping AC Milan.
Also known as the Supercoppa Italiana, the event is an annual super cup tournament in Italian football. Founded in 1988, initially as a a two-team competition, the Italian Super Cup has since featured four teams from the 2023 edition onwards, now including the winners and runners-up of the previous season’s Serie A and Coppa Italia.
