The gorgeous masterpiece, a sculpture crafted from 517 carats of diamonds set in platinum that stands at 42 inches, is one of the most diamond-intensive artworks in existence, incorporating more than 6,200 diamonds (yes, that many). The sculpture is a part of the ‘Boonji Spaceman’ series, which symbolizes courage to face the unknown.
The striking sculpture is a collaboration with Johnathan Schultz, and incorporates precious, earthly materials that would stand the test of time. Along with ‘Frozen with Desire,’ a gorgeous pink and gold Spaceman sculpture embodying Murphy’s belief in the power of positivity will also be on display.
This is the artist’s second exhibition in the Kingdom, the first in November at Ahlam Gallery. According to Arab News, Murphy sees Saudi Arabia as a vital part of his artistic journey. He said the Kingdom was experiencing a cultural renaissance, but challenges remain.
