These two places in Saudi Arabia are among the World’s Greatest of 2025
Here’s everything we know…
The 2025 edition of TIME’s World’s Greatest Places of 2025 was released earlier this week.
The list saw two incredible places from Saudi Arabia among the world’s most picturesque and exquisite locations.
Curious to know which destinations from the Kingdom made the cut of the World’s Greatest Places of 2025? *Drum roll, please*
Beit Jokhdar, Beit Al Rayess, and Beit Kedwan
Located in the historic heart of Al Balad, Beit Jokhdar, Beit Al Rayess and Beit Kedwan have converted former family homes into elevated boutique stays packed with personality. Encapsulating the locale, each has been curated in collaboration with local historians, artists and carpenters, who have worked carefully to ensure each one preserves the charms of its original existence.
At Beit Jokhdar, guests can check-in to one of the entry-level deluxe rooms or splurge on one of the regal suites, the latter of which come in rich, jewel-hued fabrics, private steam rooms, and L’Occitane amenities. At Beit Al Rayess, guests are welcomed to check-in to just one of six rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to combine history with modern comforts, with high ceilings, neutral hues, and plush furnishings. Stays at Bait Kedwan are available across just two guest rooms, so this is a good option for if you’re looking to book out an entire address. Featuring multiple lounge areas with grand Arabian terraces and a tranquil roof terrace, this promises an enchanting escape for those looking to be in the heart of the action, while still enjoying their own privacy.
Shebara Resort
Owned and operated by Red Sea Global, the hyper-luxury resort first opened its doors to visitors back in November 2024, but we’ve been dreaming (and writing) about the resort for a tad longer. First announced in November 2023, the jaw-dropping renders of the property took the internet by storm. Nestled within the thriving, pristine Al Wajh Lagoon, on the uninhabited Shaybara Island, located 45 minutes by boat from the mainland. The remote location of this gorgeous island destination is part of its appeal, but thanks to direct flights to Red Sea International Airport (RSI) from Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dubai, it’s becoming increasingly accessible. Immerse yourself into the essence of true luxury at Shebara, where you can explore how elegance, comfort, and timeless experience come together under one very big roof, seamlessly.
Shebara features 38 overwater villas and 35 beachfront villas, each crafted to deliver unparalleled privacy and luxury. The resort offers a variety of water activities, including beginner diving courses, guided snorkeling, electric boat rides, and more. Shebara features 73 overwater and beachfront villas, divided by the number of rooms, exclusivity, privacy, and sheer vivacity.
