Dust storms, heavy rain, high-speed winds. That is what the weather this week has looked like, and we’re here to tell you how long it’s going to last and what you can expect. This is what you need to know about KSA weather for the rest of this week.
According to the National Centre for Meteorology (NCM), forecasts will continue for varying intensity rainfall across most regions of Saudi Arabia until next Saturday, per Saudi Gazette. The NCM releasing an animated map illustrating the expected movement and intensity of the rain.

According to the map, by today (Wednesday April 22), nearly all rainfall is expected to subside, with only light rain affecting the north of the Eastern Province, including Al-Ahsa, as well as parts of Riyadh. Afterwards, in the early evening, scattered light rainfall is expected in parts of the Eastern Province, Makkah, and Asir.
Thursday April 23
Later in the evening, rainfall will mainly affect the Riyadh Region, including Al-Mujam’a and Al-Dawadmi, with light rain also expected in Al-Ahsa in the Eastern Province. From early Thursday morning onwards, the animated map indicates heavy rainfall along the northern borders between the Eastern Province and Riyadh, spreading across northern Riyadh and into the Qassim Region. Meanwhile, light rain is expected in the central parts of the Eastern Province, including Dammam, and across central and southern Riyadh.
In the afternoon, heavy rainfall will affect areas bordering Hail and Medina, as well as the south of Hail. Mild rainfall will extend across much of the north of the Eastern Province and northern Medina and be scattered across the Makkah Region.

Friday April 24
Early Friday morning, heavy rainfall will move into the area between Qassim and Riyadh, spreading southward, with moderate rainfall affecting the capital. Scattered rain is also expected in Hail. In the afternoon, moderate to heavy rainfall will be scattered across northern Riyadh, Hail, and Tabuk before spreading across much of the Kingdom, affecting most regions except the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Medina, and Al-Jouf. In the evening, heavy rainfall will develop across much of northern Riyadh and move eastward into Qassim, affecting southern parts of the Northern Borders. Al-Jouf, Asir, and Tabuk will also experience moderate to heavy rainfall.
Saturday April 25
By early Saturday morning, rainfall will subside across most of the Kingdom, though moderate to heavy rain will continue in northern Riyadh and the Eastern Province until late afternoon. Heavy rainfall is then expected across most regions, excluding Hail, Tabuk, and Medina, with the most intense rainfall affecting Makkah, Jazan, and Asir, as well as northern Riyadh, the Eastern Province, most of Qassim, and the Northern Borders.
The widespread heavy rainfall across the Kingdom is expected to subside late Saturday evening.
