Is Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury finally happening? Here's what we know
The fight everyone’s been waiting for is back in the headlines. But is it actually locked in this time?
If you’ve followed boxing long enough, you’ll know this story by heart: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury gets close… then slips away.
But now, it’s back again…
Promoter Eddie Hearn posted on social media that the long-awaited fight was “signed, sealed and delivered”, with the fight expected later this year or towards the end of 2026.

Joshua and Fury have been linked with one another since, really, when they turned professional at a similar time, given their potential and shared nationality.
Still, before anyone starts booking flights or planning watch parties, there’s a catch – or two.
First up, Joshua’s return to Riyadh. As reported last week, he’s stepping back into the ring on Saturday July 25 for The Comeback against Kristian Prenga. That fight isn’t just a warm-up; it’s the gateway. Win it, and the path to Fury becomes very real.
Then there’s Fury. He’s also expected to take another bout before facing Joshua, keeping the timeline fluid rather than fixed.
And let’s not forget that this matchup has fallen apart before. More than once. From contract disputes to last-minute obligations, the sport has a habit of pulling the rug out from under it just when it feels close.
Moreover, details such as the venue and exact date are still up in the air.
So… is it a done deal?
On paper, yes. Contracts signed, plans in motion, and both fighters publicly aligned for the first time in years. Some insiders are even calling it the biggest fight in British boxing history.
But in boxing terms? It’s done… until it isn’t.
For now, all eyes are on a potential mega-fight in Riyadh this summer. So, watch this space. We’ll have more updates as soon as they land.
