The big reveal: Artists announced for Azimuth music festival in AlUla
The festival will celebrate a union of east and west through music, art and experience…
AlUla Moments is returning this September, and kicking things off in style will be a three-day music festival in the dreamy AlUla desert. Back for the first time since March 2020, Azimuth music festival will run from Thursday September 22 to Saturday September 24, presenting a celebration of East and West through music, art and experience.
No less than 21 artists and DJs will perform in the AlUla desert, with a breathtaking desert canyon backdrop playing host to the epic weekend-long event. And if you’re wondering which musicians will be heading to Azimuth this year, AlUla Moments drops the mic tonight (Sept 1), with the list of performing artists revealed at a live show, broadcasted across the 82 screens at Boulevard Riyadh City.
The second edition of Azimuth will welcome sets from international performers such as Damian Lazarus, DJ Snake and Parov Stelar. Other notable acts on the bill include local music names and renowned regional artists: Saudi violinist and DJ Kayan, Dorar, Solskin, Dish Dash, Baloo, Nomad, Biirdperson, Gooner, Anmarz, and Vinyl Mode.
With more artist announcements to come, Azimuth AlUla 2022 is promising to be one of the finest yet. The performances will include special sunset and sunrise sets, which are, no doubt, set to provide some dazzling moments for festival goers.
At the first festival in 2020, international headliners included Tinie Tempah and The Chainsmokers, so we can’t wait to see who else will be joining the line-up for this year.
Perfectly timed over the Saudi National Day holiday, residents will be able to make the most of the long weekend and cooler temperatures by jetting into AlUla for a long weekend of music, art and dining; though its diverse line-up and gorgeous desert landscapes are sure to draw an international crowd too. Tickets, travel packages and information about flights and accommodation are now available on experiencealula.com. However, there’s only 1,000 tickets each day, so be sure to snap up your tickets ASAP.
The 2022 edition of Azimuth will revolve around its sunrise and sunset events, although between shows, guests can chill out and enjoy their surroundings, with a range of tasty pop-up restaurants, interesting shops and wellness and art events to enjoy. The canyon where Azimuth will take place recently played host to responsive art exhibition of Desert X AlUla 2022, and some of the artworks remain for music festival guests to enjoy.
After Azimuth, the remainder of the 2022 AlUla Moments calendar will see the return of AlUla Wellness Festival and Winter at Tantora, plus a new festival for 2022: Ancient Kingdoms Festival.
