Minimalistic and striking, Pattern makes the most of its large and bright space. The store offers a curated selection of art, fashion, home accessories and lifestyle products from both up-and-coming Saudi artists and established international names. Spread over two levels, the boutique also has a café for grabbing a coffee. A visit here is as much about enjoying the store design as it is the products.

Art & Things by local artist Ahlam Alshedouky celebrates her belief in art by creating pieces that speak to the audience. Alshedouky’s style is an unexpected combination of realism and abstract, with a minimalistic approach to both. She also touches upon many issues, such as gender balance and the complicated man/woman relationship in Saudi Arabia. The exhibition runs until March 4.
Ahlam Studio Gallery, 1st Floor, Office No. 6, Exit 7, Anas Ibn Malik Road, Al Narjis, 4pm to 10pm. Tel: 055 914 4488. @ahlam_studio_gallery

After a long wait, Hanoverian has finally opened its first branch in Riyadh. Known for its chocolate truffles, Hanoverian has something for the purist as well as the hedonist. Try the caramel slice, or perhaps the crunchy hazelnut. We’ll take any of the varieties, to be honest. Plus, we love that each box comes in understated, luxurious packaging.
Hanoverian, Takhassusi St, An Nakheel, QJ3Q+6Q, daily 4pm to midnight. Tel: 055 114 7620. @hanoverian.ksa
