Tis the season for pumpkin chai latte

We all know that Urth Caffe often concocts whimsical drinks. Wanting to add pumpkin spice to their menus while still being sure it fits the cafe’s ethos, they’ve created the pumpkin chai latte – a perfect blend of sugar, spice, and everything nice. A refreshing take on the pumpkin spice latte in more ways than one, the newly launched beverage combines homemade pumpkin puree, divine spice tea, milk, and sugar syrup (plus ice cream for the cold and ice blended version).

Urth Caffe, two locations in Jeddah, including Ash Shati, Jeddah 23414 & Al Mohammadiyyah, Jeddah 23617, daily 7am to 1am. @urthcaffesaudi

If you want to go on a walk but avoid the treadmill and also keep cool in the air conditioning, the RWG Community is organising indoor walking at the Cenomi Mall of Arabia. Walking is widely held to be one of the most beneficial forms of basic exercise, and step-counting is a great motivational tactic for achieving fitness goals. But we think it’s also a brilliant way to keep an eye out for sales while burning calories.

Mall Walk with Soreya & Ofelia, Oct 21, 10am to 11am, Mall of Arabia, An Nuzhah, Jeddah 23532. @rwg_community

Noto, a culinary treasure trove in the heart of Jeddah, is suave and cool and all things Italian. But it’s all about what’s on the plate. The food is exquisite, in which Mediterranean cuisine meets Italian authenticity. From tasty antipasti and homemade pasta and pizza to delicately cooked meat and fish creations, get ready to tuck into classics like vitello tonnato (veal), burrata, porcini and seasonal mushroom risotto, Milanese veal chop, oven-roasted Brazino, and Margherita pizza. Oh, and save room for the tiramisu.

Noto, Weekdays 1pm to 1am & Weekends 1pm to 2am, Cascade at Jeddah Walk, Western Gate, Second Floor, Jeddah. @noto.ksa

1610 Bagel has been making serious waves on the scene, offering some of the most irresistible NYC-style bagels and having perfected the art of the boil and bake. There’s everything from the classic cream cheese and smoked salmon to their Soho Philly Chkn, packed with creamy chicken strips, cream cheese, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms with Swiss cheese. They’re as fresh as they come, and while the menu is a playground of different fillings, the 5th Avenue Salt Beef filled with their slow-cooked beef Montreal-style, punchy pickles, and cabbage with maple syrup sauce is a belter.

1610 Bagel, daily 7.30am to 11.30pm, Al Batarji, Al Zahra, Jeddah 23522. @1610bagelksa

Visit the historic Nassif House Museum in Al-Balad

One of Jeddah’s best-restored old coral houses, Nassif House belonged to one of Jeddah’s most powerful trading families and was later a royal residency for King Abdul Aziz. It has since been converted into a museum and is definitely worth visiting, where you can enjoy the company of your family or friends in the evenings, full of joy ‎and storytelling.‎ Look out for the ramps installed by the King to allow his camel-mounted messengers to ride all the way to the upper terrace, and the huge tree left of the door. As recently as 1920, this was the only tree in the whole of Jeddah.

Nassif House Museum, daily 8am to noon, 6pm to midnight, Al Dhahab, Al-Balad, Jeddah 22236. Tel: 012 647 2280. @jeddahalbalad.sa

And now you can go with your friends on a five-hour boat trip to Bayada Island with JIF Plus Cruise. Other activities on offer include volleyball, kayaking and, of course, swimming in the crystal-clear water.
