Saudi traffic speeding fines every driver should know about

The General Directorate of Traffic in Saudi Arabia, responsible for regulating traffic laws, issuing licences, and managing vehicle records, has announced Saudi traffic speeding fines.
As announced by Saudi News via X (formerly Twitter), the Saudi traffic speeding fines range from SAR150 to SAR2,000.

First: Roads with a specified speed of 120 kilometres/hour or less
- Exceeding the limit by more than 10 kilometres/hour to 20 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR150 to SAR300
- Exceeding the limit by more than 20 kilometres/hour to 30 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR300 to SAR500
- Exceeding the limit by more than 30 kilometres/hour to 40 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR800 to SAR1,000
- Exceeding the limit by more than 40 kilometres/hour to 50 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR1,200 to SAR1,500
- Exceeding the limit by more than 50 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR1,500 to SAR2,000
Second: Roads with a specified speed of 140 kilometres/hour or less
- Exceeding the limit by more than 5 kilometres/hour to 10 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR300 to SAR500
- Exceeding the limit by more than 10 kilometres/hour to 20 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR800 to SAR1,000
- Exceeding the limit by more than 20 kilometres/hour to 30 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR1,200 to SAR1,500
- Exceeding the limit by more than 40 kilometres/hour: Fine from SAR1,500 to SAR2,000
To make your life a tad easier, though, we’ve also gathered up all of the traffic violations and penalties in Saudi Arabia, along with the fines that go with committing a violation here. Divided into four categories, going from category one (highest fines from SAR500 to SAR900) to category four (lowest fines from SAR100 to SAR150), the Ministry of Interior has defined violations and fines. So, if you’re on the road out here in Riyadh or Saudi Arabia, for that matter, we’d be a little more careful.
