Bring the kiddos out to the newest Hayy Explorers program
Summer plans sorted
It’s summer, and if you’re having trouble keeping up with the kiddos, we’ve got just the thing for you. Meet the newest Hayy Explorers programme held under the theme ‘As Told by the Land’.
Happening until Thursday October 1, the newest Hayy Explorers programme, As Told by the Land, is a three-month-long thematic programme for children aged six to 15. Through educational programmes and artist interventions, it responds to the current Hayy Arts exhibitions by exploring themes of storytelling, movement, and shifting worlds.

Across the three months, children are invited to follow paths, collect traces, and construct new worlds from their immediate surroundings and everyday life. The programme unfolds through three main chapters: Traces & Memory, Routes of Exchange, and Constructed Worlds. Each sub-theme is explored through hands-on workshops, artist collaborations, and reading sessions.
The programme’s impact is not limited to the artistic aspect only, but it also contributes to developing a range of cognitive and creative skills among participants by introducing them to the concepts of environmental and urban transformations and methods of documenting and archiving memory, in addition to enhancing drawing, visual expression, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
It also opens the door for them to learn about the vocabulary of local architecture and explore the stories of places, which broadens their horizons and gives them new tools to understand and interact with the world around them.
The Hayy Explorers initiative and programmes reflect Art Jameel’s commitment to creating a specialised creative environment for children and young adults. Through programmes, workshops, and educational camps that cater to diverse ages and interests, these initiatives aim to discover and nurture talent.
