In celebration of its opening, Ahlam Gallery is hosting a visual art exhibition by Dr Ahlam Alshedoukhy, a self-taught contemporary Saudi artist. It’s the last night that Dr Ahlam’s artworks will be on display, so stop by the gallery to check out her latest exhibition, “To Blossom”. Through her art, she expresses customs and inherited beliefs, the individual versus the collective identity, and the meaning of belonging and containment. However, what we love the most about the exhibition is the melange of bold colours used by the artist in the collection of artworks on display. Don’t miss it.

To Blossom Art Exhibition, until Oct 27, 5pm to 10pm, Ahlam Gallery, Olaya St, Al Mousa Centre, Gate 1, First Floor, Riyadh 12221. @ahlamgallery.sa

2. Immerse in the world of Anime

Anime lovers, are you ready for the Saudi Anime Expo? There will be more than 30 booths offering unique experiences and entertaining activities, and a live stage where famous Anime celebrities will perform live shows and organise a cosplay competition. You can also expect lots of photo opportunities around real-life size Anime figures and rare collectables all the way from Japan. And, of course, don’t leave the expo without trying the various Japanese cuisine at the on-site cafés and restaurants.

Saudi Anime Expo, Oct 27 to 29, 4pm to midnight, Riyadh Front. Book your tickets here. The entry ticket starts from SAR50. @riyadhseason

3. Set the mood for the spooky season by watching “Prey For The Devil”

Just like Christmas has its music and Valentine’s Day has chocolates, Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without the movies accompanying it. And a real horror buff will enjoy Prey For The Devil. Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers) believes she is answering a calling to be the first female exorcist… but who, or what, called her? In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, Ann seeks a place at an exorcism school reopened by the Catholic Church. Until now, these schools have only trained priests in the Rite of Exorcism – but a professor (Colin Salmon) recognises Sister Ann’s gifts and agrees to train her. Thrusting onto the spiritual frontline with fellow student Father Dante (Christian Navarro), Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl, who Sister Ann believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago. Determined to root out the evil, Ann soon realises the Devil has her right where he wants her.

Prey For The Devil, Horror / Thriller, Rating R15, 1h 33 min. Book your tickets here.

4. Practise a little outdoor yoga to end the week

Whether you’re a total newbie or a seasoned yogi, an outdoor yoga class is a perfect opportunity to reconnect with yourself and nature. Enjoy the fresh air on your face as you move through yoga poses, slowing your soul under the stars with the guidance of a friendly instructor. Plus, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, this yoga class will be free for everyone affected by breast cancer.
