Langham, Corinthia and Faena among 16 new hotels coming to Diriyah
The world renowned brands take the development’s hotel portfolio to 32…
The hotly anticipated opening of Diriyah’s dining destination, Bujairi Terrace and UNESCO World Heritage Site At-Turaif, isn’t the only exciting news coming out of this historic destination this week. As alongside learning about all the new restaurants and cafes we can dine at right now – or very soon – master developers Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) has unveiled plans for 16 new hotels we’ll be able to check-in to in the coming years.
Among them, you’ll find some of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands, all set to open between now and 2025 across two of DGDA’s master plan areas: Diriyah and Wadi Safar.
New hotels in Diriyah
In Diriyah, Minor hotels will bring its Thai-born Anantara brand to the complex, Taj Hotels will present its signature Indian hospitality, while Marriott will introduce a new Edition property to its Saudi Arabian pipeline and Hilton will open the Waldorf Astoria Diriyah.
Renowned luxury hotel brands The Langham and Corinthia Hotels, both established as hospitality masters behind some of London’s finest addresses will also bring their world-class service and legacy hospitality to the destination.
The Langham, Diriyah will be located on Diriyah’s main boulevard, just five minutes’ drive from At-Turaif. The hotel will feature 200 ultra-luxe rooms and suites, The Langham Chuan Spa, an intimate Langham Club Lounge, and an art gallery experience. It will also offer two exciting new dining destinations, including the first Middle Eastern outpost of the three-Michelin-star Cantonese restaurant T’ang Court, plus The Langham’s famed signature afternoon tea and the first international outpost of The Langham, London’s cooking school, Sauce.
Further new additions include 1 Hotels, focused on sustainable luxury; Pendry Hotels & Resorts, which hails from x; and the boutique Treehouse Hotel, a creative address for comfort and expression.
More budget-friendly lifestyle additions will include a Hyatt Place, Marriott’s Moxy Hotel and a Radisson RED.
New hotels in Wadi Safar
In the jaw-dropping beauty of Wadi Safar, plans for four more hotels have been unveiled. These include a Well Health Retreat, an elegant The Chedi property from GHM Hotels and a hotel by Montage Hotels & Resorts. The property that’s really caught our eye is Faena, the celeb-loved brand born on Miami Beach. Plans for a Faena hotel in Saudi Arabia have already been announced for The Red Sea, making this the second property in the Kingdom from the iconic brand.
Diriyah’s already announced properties
The 16 new additions double the list of hotels coming to DGDA to 32. Already announced for the mega project, brands including Four Seasons, Capella, Raffles, Orient Express, Six Senses and Fauchon all plan to open in Diriyah. All properties will open between 2023 and 2026.
Speaking on the new additions, Jerry Inzerillo, Group CEO of DGDA said, “Each and every hotel brand offers a special, distinctive experience for visitors, all united by a shared promise to provide a unique set of high-quality services measured to global standards for all of Diriyah’s guests.”
“The opening of these hotels signifies our ongoing promise to transform Diriyah into one of the greatest gathering places in the world, welcoming visitors from around the world into the Kingdom, in line with Vision 2030’s aims and objectives,” he added.
